Warning: Changing in this way (as instructed below) will change every device you log in with your Microsoft Account. In this post, we will share how you can change the email address of the Windows 10 Microsoft account without losing anything in Windows 10. While it makes it easy to sign to multiple devices if you ever wanted to change the Microsoft Email address of your Account, how do you go about it? Do you need to recreate another account? Well, that’s one option, but then it means losing everything associated with it. I still have no idea why my main account did this, but not my spam account, when I changed the same piece of information for both accounts.I am sure you are using a Microsoft account in your Windows 10 PC. Will I be able to use the authenticator and recovery code once the 30 day hold is up, and my new phone number is applied? It’s no huge deal I can still access my outlook email and everything, although I can’t make purchases on Xbox, which is a bit of a pain. Did I do something wrong? I’m reading that this is an extra security measure, but I don’t understand why the 30 day hold was only placed on one account but not the other? Since changing the phone number was the first thing I went to do, I now can’t log into the authenticator or get a recovery code for my main account because of the 30 day hold. However, when I tried to do the same for my main account, I got an email saying that the new number would not be applied for 30 days. I was also able to log into the authenticator and get a backup recovery code for the spam account. I was able to add my new number and remove the old one from my spam account with no issues at all. I also wanted to log into both accounts using the Microsoft authenticator app, and get a 25 digit recovery code for both accounts, that way all my bases are covered. I recently got a new phone number, and went to change the number associated with both accounts so that the information would be up to date. The accounts have each other as the recovery emails, and both also have the same phone number, although I’ve never forgotten the passwords for either. I have two Microsoft accounts: one that is my main, and one that I use for spam/recovery for my main account. So I’m trying to do a bit security cleanup for my accounts to ensure that I never lose access to them.
